Thanks vBackman! This meme just came from nowhere. I was talking to a co-worker about audio books, and Sagan's name came up. So I googled him for that, and saw a link to a video that talked about him predicting our current situation over 25 years ago, and there was my inspiration to steal! It's all lifted screenshots on the left, as you could probably tell.
The title talks about the last two panels, but what's in panels 2 and 3 is just as prescient. Panel 2: "when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a few". How much more accurate could that be about FacedBook, Tweeter, et al.?
Panel 3: "when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority". Wow! That's the modern dimocrat party / cancel culture in a freakin' nutshell! Step out of line with group think at your own risk, and don't you ever question Biden or his agenda, cuz you will be cancelled! (labeled a racist, etc.)
Or at least they'll try. I think the tide is turning. The people are fed up and hopefully waking up, and we should see the positive effects of this in the midterms. Problem is that it requires vigilance, and as Sagan points out in Panel 5, we've just been so dumbed down by the powerful, lying, agenda driven media, in combination with our ten second attention spans. All it will take for those waking from their slumber now would probably be four years of a strong Trump second term economy, and then the sheeple will be ready for more dimocrat / media lies.
It's a hard ball world out there vBackman. We've got to keep our heads until this woke craze blows over.
