Normal people help homeless people all the time, Unless a system is in store to get people off the street, into a better environment with support and stability for recovery, homeless drug addicted victims will never recover. And sure they are victims of their own making. It already costs society enough to clean up tents, and house them in jail. If only there was a jail system to help recover addicts, or help homeless people find stability, then maybe their lives would be better. I understand that giving them freedom to use money to purchase things at their will would only keep them in an addicted state of living, but some has to find a solution to the growing problem. Blaming them for receiving money from social services to stay homeless is all they know. So I guess we can allow the homeless to keep on making cities ugly, and tenting up neighborhoods, littering drug paraphernalia or try to set up a way to provide an alternative to rehabilitate them into society. Sad thing is that some homeless people are to far gone to be contributing members of society, but that still doesn't mean they deserve no dignity. There are elderly people living off 820 a month in America with the help of other social services to keep a roof under their head, granted they are not criminals, but still 820 dollars a month is very difficult to live off of a country where you should have 1,132.50 a month to make the poverty line. Tax dollars are already going to non profit organizations to help the homeless, but anyone can create a non profit organization and misappropriate funds. So Who is going to help the situation average everyday people, or the state and or federal government?
