Not true. After slaves were freed and given the right to vote in the south, Democrats changed gun laws. Democrats passed laws preventing Negroes from owning guns. Then Democrats used the KKK to suppress the unarmed blacks. There were also laws outlawing gun ownership by Native Americans.
