Funny. They didn't have Clone Wars season 7 for at least 3 years... The staff abandoned the series and went on to do Rebels... For Disney... But...

Every plot has a gimmick. Seriously. The fact that you're being mad at series for having gimmicks is really telling that it's just anti disney bias.
Mandalorian gave us Lore that depicted more of the Mandalore culture and of a group called "The Watch." It was an insightful series that had shown us not only were Mandalorians like Spartans (CW didn't really depict it that well) but their armor was as personal to them as a Samurai's Katana.
Genetic Mutations are more Lore Filler for the Clones as well as backstory to the sequel trilogy and "the child." I imagine. not enough data yet to say with 100% conviction, but once the series finish, we'll see.
In Legends, Palpatine was also cloned, multiple times.
