Only a fool makes this point. There have been many points in time when FL was clearly lower than the lockdown states, and then it swings the other way. Not unlike how ALL airborne illnesses run as waves through a society. Currently, the lockdown center of the US, CA, is seeing a huge surge. The only thing we know for certain is that lockdowns and mask mandates do not work. At all.

Why did they originally say that the public shouldn't wear masks? I know the excuse they made up much later, but the problem with that excuse is that at the time they made the original statement, no one thought Covid was all that big a deal (it isn't).

No, THE reason that they said that the public shouldn't bother wearing masks is because that was what the medical community already knew AFTER DECADES of research and anecdotal evidence- since at the least the 1950s. Oh, but you have been told that there are "studies" that prove otherwise.

Decades of studies say otherwise, as does the last two years of results. There is no way to control any study to the point that they can say with certainty that this all works, but given that nearly everyone was masked up for a year, and it still spread, why can't you believe the obvious?
