Let’s game this out. Worst case scenario?
IG — I mean, “whoever’s in charge “ — passes bigoted/censorship laws that offend 95% of the active stream users, but are opposed by only 49% of Congress. Wait, how’d that happen? I thought we had a proportional Congress?! Welp, don’t ask how. Maybe IG made a corrupt backroom deal with more pliable “opposition” leaders. Maybe promised them a bonus of some fake meme dollars from whenever a “privatized” IMGFLIP_BANK re-opens in the future. Private banks can do whatever they want, right? That’s not corruption! *wink wink*
Said active PRESIDENTS memers get fed up having their dank memes and witty commentary censored, and leave. Ironically, remaining Conservative Partiers having achieved what they theoretically wanted then also lose interest in the stream, because whatever interest they had in being here was based purely on wielding authority over their political opponents like a cudgel. No more “libtrads” (anyone a fractional degree to the left of Trump) to own? No more “winning.” No more conflict. No more interest.
Several more “elections” with waning turnout then take place between United Russia — I’m sorry, I mean Conservative Party — and the theoretical “opposition” parties, with the outcome never in serious doubt.
Democratic decline. Stream death.
The bold IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS experiment in memeocratic self-governing comes to an end: not with a bang, but with a whimper.
So yeah, no worries
