Only EIGHT years later it fell? Just TWO whole terms? Was that in time for that recession greeting Bush at the door?
And Nixon & Ford, inflation was what under them?

OPEC's oil embargoes in response to the US supplying arms to Israel during the Arab-Israeli War, an effort lead by the Shah of Iran which ultimately lead to the US screwing him over and prepping the stage for Khomeini & Co?

So it WASN'T big bad Jimmy Carter's fault after all, the President who was responsible for finally opting for double digit interest rates which ultimately lead to inflation curbing albeit under Reagan's watch as the whole mess cost Carter a second term?

I was trying to show that inflation was higher under Carter than Reagan. I wasn't trying to say who's fault it was.

And the similarity I was trying to make was in the 70's it was also due to the price oil running up energy costs.
