In Houston, Texas they closed voting sited in the minority sections of the city during the last election, making minority voters to travel great distances to vote. If they didn't have cars or extra money for gas, that put an unfair burden on them. A bill has been introduced to make those closures permanent.

In order to have a mail in ballot, in Texas, you must request it in advance. The polling places were closed too close to election day, for this to happen. I live in a state in which mail in ballots are the standard. We do have drop boxes, also. Interestingly, we have areas o the state that are solidly Republican. In those areas, Republicans win elections. Not one bill has been introduced by the majority Democratic Party to reduce drop boxes in Republican areas.
