We are a constitutional Republic not a democracy. Also if our government can be overthrown by a bunch of unarmed yahoo's we have some things to fix, maybe we should have more armed people at the congress building who are willing to pull the trigger. But I'm sure you'd rather just attack free speech because that's what the programming tells you.

You are half right. Our Constitutional Republic is run through a Representative Democracy, in which we vote for those who legislate and execute our laws. A year ago Trump's mob attempted to put an end to that process and end our experiment with trusting the people with the vote. Without the vote of the people, Democracy, we are no longer able to guarantee freedom and equality for all. You can curse our government and leaders all day long. When you take up weapons against it, everything changes.

Our Founding Fathers started their own insurrection, and didn't talk the British to death - they straight-up shot them.

When I saw people using the American flag to disguise improvised weapons on 1-6-21, I knew that they lacked the base line of patriotism that makes America work, even in times of strong partisanship. Consider the Flag Law. It makes the using of the flag in that way, against the law. But, none of the anti-American mob was charged with any violations of the flag law. They were not, for the same reason flag burners are not charged. The people who wrote the Flag Law didn't write into it any "enforcement clauses." They apparently thought that a majority of us would find assaults on our flag to be profoundly distasteful, and not support it. And, if the time comes when there are not enough of us to stand up against those who oppose what America stands for, Trump and his like will win. Until then, they are losers.

Wow! You snorkeled around in my Facebook account and discovered that I am a partisan! It is common for people losing an election to claim, "we were robbed." When you can produce evidence that I supported, justified and apologized for a political riot stated by a former president aimed at stopping the Constitutional, peaceful transfer of power, you can call me a hypocrite.

I am really surprised that you didn't call me out for my support of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Surely you found my criticism of criminals that took advantage of BLM protests to loot. My support of the science of genetically engineered crops, must have caught your eye. My support of natural gas as an alternative to coal, and criticism of Greenpeace over their fear that this would take pressure off of leaders to support "clean energy," missed your spyglass.

As long as you can characterize me as some "leftist, Never Trumper," and nothing else, you will expose my "secrets." here. Let me give you a hint. If they were secrets, they wouldn't be in print on Facebook.

You missed that other stuff, because a moderately liberal guy, having strong negative feelings about the Tangerine Tyrant, challenges your preconceptions. I know many Republicans who are hanging on by a thread to their support of the Trump Dominated GOP. They feel the same way I do, but still hold out hope that their party will right itself. You should be more afraid of what they think than what I think. Most are just one more "Trumpster Fire," from leaving the party.
