I remember when there were good Republicans. Seems like a long, long time ago.

Same here. Been some darn good Republicans back in the day. But the last decent Republican president was Ike. Bush 41 a distant second. Honorable mention to Gerald Ford, but only because he wasn't in long enough to screw up terribly. Still didn't like his pardoning Nixon, though.

Well, he was nowhere near as bad as Tricky Dick, Ronnie Ray-Gun, Dubya or The Donald, who was by far the worst.

Ike and Ford are responsible for moves which lead to the Iranian revolution and turning our closest ally in the region against us. Ike also put them on the road to nukes. Smart move, depose their democratically selected Prime Minister, then give them their first reactor and treaty to further development.
And turning off NY would have shut off the world.

Funny, I myself say the lowering of the idiot bar with GOP presidents started with Reagan, but that was with the elected. Fact is that slide it started with Ford.
Then again, seeing what Ike did with pissing off a country then setting them on the road to develop weapons they could use against us, I'mma have to check him out further. Sounds a little fried in the ol' turnip too.
