It’s not out of context. The article quotes an entire paragraph from his speech. It’s clear the point DJT Jr. was leading up to. He didn’t misspeak, and no apologies or clarifications have been issued.

I will agree with you that one needs to do a lot of “interpretation” indeed to fit the square peg of Trump, his family, and his Rightist ideology into the round hole of the teachings of Christ. See e.g.: Matthew 19:23-24
