"COVID-19 doesn’t care how long it’s been a thing, or how “over it” you are. It has one mission only: Infect as many as possible."
Quite true. If viruses don't put another arrow in the quiver of the theory of evolution, what would? Think about it for a minute. They can't survive without a host, right? And ultimately, they may kill their host (depending on the severity of the virus) but not before spreading to as many other hosts as possible. IF viruses couldn't evolve, this strategy would ultimately seem to be counter to their long term viability. I can't stand the damn things, even when they're less severe! Paraphrasing what Carl Sagan said, they're thoroughgoing parasites. At least bacteria have to earn a living.
