Stop giving them ideas, Noam!

Stop giving them ideas, Noam! | The smart way to keep people
passive and obedient is to
strictly limit the spectrum of
acceptable opinion,
but allow very lively debate
within that spectrum -
even encourage the more
critical and dissident views.
That gives people the sense
that there's free thinking going
on, while all the time the
presuppositions of the system
are being reinforced by the limits
put on the range of the debate.

The problem is people say this shit then they go bonkers on topics like Trump, Abortion, Covid, Border Walls etc.... All of a sudden the lively two sides become one acceptable side and one deplorable one.

It's just like Depak Chopra pretending to be some wise and calm guru but it only took a troll a few minutes to break that facade.

That's the genius of it. By proclaiming even the moderately socialist or reactionary ideas out of the question, the truly radical ones are left without being heard.

Yes, those poor socialists being silenced. They have no one except Hollywood stars, the fake news, and 3/4s of college professors to speak for them. How persecuted & isolated they are.
