Ok, ok. They already were getting the budget! Besides, what do you know about the Air Force, and what roles they have been performing? Do you seriously think we depended on NASA to get into orbit until Space Force was created?
I am going to let you in on a little thing is going on right now in Washington. They know some stinky stuff happened around the creation of SPACE FORCE, especially the location of where Command is to be located. They are looking into the deal. Here is some details for you to disregard as bullshit.
........
When the new U.S. Space Command headquarters selection process launched in May 2020, locations within 26 states jumped in with proposals, and the Air Force again winnowed it to six finalists. Colorado Springs and Huntsville made the cut again, as did Albuquerque, New Mexico; Bellevue, Nebraska; Cape Canaveral, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas.
And, the Air Force invited them to offer up incentives for the 1,400-person headquarters.
Here was a real plum, a headquarters for a prestigious multi-service combatant command, up for grabs to the highest bidder. Millions of dollars worth of land, road construction and amenities (Colorado Springs threw in a new privately funded golf course) were offered.
Now, some suggest, that other things were needed to sweeten the pot: politicians willing to back Trump’s re-election and his subsequent false claims that it was stolen.
Even the movers and shakers in Alabama are worried about the optics.
“Breaking news that Alabama will be home to the U.S. Space Command Headquarters is being tainted by the efforts of U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, and Congressman Brooks, R-Alabama, who are trying to take credit, saying they cut a deal with President Trump,” the Alabama Political Reporter newsletter reported on Jan. 13, the day the secretary of the Air Force announced the headquarters would likely be in Huntsville.
The newsletter and subsequent articles went on to say that insiders say that isn’t true and that Huntsville was selected for all the right reasons.
The Air Force hasn’t provided the details of the selection judging, and rumors abound that it chose Peterson AFB but was overruled by Trump. Peterson AFB is in Colorado, BTW.
