A Cat's Way Of Thinking

I get that look every time I pet the darn cat.

Do you tell it that it's a good cat regularly?

Um, not exactly... LOL I point out it's foibles on a regular basis. Hey, if it wants to judge me, I feel turn about is fair play.

But don't you think if you told it, it was a good cat more often he might be better? Although I know mine is judgmental of me when I have meetings, because I'm not paying attention to him as much as he wants.

I have had cats in my life for as long as I can remember, this is one of those that is just an incorrigible critter. I have met other that were worse. Granted, this one is not mine, per say, but it lives under my roof. I provide it's food, protection, and entertain it when it is in a mood to accept it. All in all, I use body language to pass along my intentions of no animosity, but it is not reciprocated. I think it is part possum.

I've had a different experience...The cat I have now was feral...I fed him and gave him water four days a week, and I did that for over a year. He knew who I was and that i was the one feeding him, because he'd watch and wait across the street. Or once in a while if I'd see him about and I tried to be friendly he'd have nothing to do with me. It wasn't until the pandemic started and everything shut down that I started feeding him twice a day, because there'd be no scraps for him. And during the next couple of months he became more trusting and friendly with me.
Then after I got the flea collar on him, he started waiting outside the door of my building. And the second night he did that I brought him upstairs. I've also found with him that being positive has the best effect. He is really good.
But I'm sure you'll find a way to reach yours..

That is awesome! Yes, I have rescued a few kitty friends over the years. It is a good reward for both of us. A provider for them and a companion for me. You are a good person and I admire your contributions to this site. Thank you and please keep up the excellent work, both on and off Imgflip!
