Not at all. I think America has unfulfilled promises and potential, but the heart of America is good, and it always has been. We’re a nation that was founded on slavery, but then we abolished it. We had segregation, but then we ended it. We’ve put men on the moon, expanded rights to gay people, invented countless new technologies, and still lead the world in economy and military and higher education. Most mainstream Democrats would tell you the same thing (I’m not a “radical Leftist”).

America is a story in progress. We haven’t reached the final chapter yet. I hope our best days are still ahead of us.
