Why would anyone trust the government?

Talking about charity - there used to be charities where deer hunters would donate any unused deer meat to food banks/soup kitchens. However the government stepped in and said it can't be done because of things like bad meat. . .of course that ended up being a lie but the damage was done. Meat had to be thrown out and people went on starving.

The same thing happened to grocery store delis and restaurants.

Good point, they did the same thing to eggs and fresh milk, although if you know a few farmers you can buy fresh. I also remember my dad getting mad every time he saw a deer dead beside the road, he swore that people used to stop and get them up for food. He said even the worst ones were used for dog food.
