They might have gotten one thing right that I found out just a few minutes ago- Union rules concerning actors/actresses and the handling of firearms on the set are the same as everywhere else - 1) Make sure the gun is fully empty or loaded after picking it up. 2) Never point unless you intend to pull the trigger. 3) Etc, etc. 4) Have a long talk with the Prop Master/Director/Safety People before doing step 1.
SAG(Screen Actors Guild) probably won't have Alec Baldwin's back on this one.
