His justification for all of his positions is decentralization and leaving issues out of the hands of the federal government, but he changed his position on marriage and decided the federal government should act to protect it.

You missed the point on marriage. The point was that marriage, as far as the government was concerned, was performed by local governments. The federal had absolutely no legal authority to override the local government.

And in actuality the government, federal, state, county or city, should have never been involved in marriage to begin with. It is a religious ceremony. It is a contract that was created by God between Him, a man and a woman. Mankind does not have the right to alter the terms of that contract.

I've never heard Rand talk about marriage but I believe he probably thinks about the same. Marriage should not be regulated or controlled by any government. The government should not be performing religious ceremonies.

If it the tax laws that concern you then dump them. Dump all tax laws. Our Progressive taxation scheme was forced on us in 1913 and it is not what this nation was founded on. The 16th amendment should be repealed but even so the Supreme Court said it does not justify the income tax. Amendments to the Constitution should only be about protecting and preserving our freedoms and not taking them away. They should have never been written to give the government more power. The 16th takes freedom away and empowers the government.

I know you want an authoritarian government that controls every facet of your life but that is NOT for me. I choose free will.

Also, marriage is not exclusively a religious ceremony. Marriages were performed well before people started believing in your false god.

Anarchy is just a means to your end. You want anarchy to tear down the free market so that you can replace it with tyranny so that the free market never comes back.

If you really wanted anarchy then you would have no choice but to support the free market because the only way a market can truly be free is in anarchy. But that is not what you want and the only way to stop the free market is with a totalitarian government squash it.

Marriages were performed exclusively by religion. They were never perform prior to religion. If there is no God then what is the point of marriage? That is what the left has been trying to say for decades until all of the sudden they jumped on the gay marriage bandwagon. Ever since I was a wee lad the left has been trying to reduce marriage to nothing but a piece of paper with no substance.

Anarchy is my end. The free market is tyranny. Understand a truly freed market means workers own the means of production and are not controlled by capitalist bosses, but still I think markets should cease to exist. The kind of anarchy you speak of is feudalism and corporate governments.

In a true anarchy there is no way to stop a free market. The only way possible is to make all of your own stuff out of the raw materials found on your land. You have to grow your own food. You cannot under any circumstance trade with anyone.

I don't think you understand what the free market is. I don't know who told you it was evil but all it is is exchanging goods and services with others. That's it. A free market happens naturally and you cannot stop it unless you have a tyrannical government. And even then there will always exist a black market.

It is how civilized people interact with each other.

Anarchy doesn't stop a free market it embellished it.

Your definition of a free market is utterly foolish because under any system people are going to exchange goods and services for the benefit of all. This isn’t different under communism. Under a state socialist scheme, the state owns and regulates its own enterprises and plans the economy from above. For anarchists and libertarian socialists, we exchange horizontally by establishing mutual aid institutions to ensure the needs of all are being met.

Capitalism requires a state to enforce it. A state literally brought it into existence by establishing private property through enclosure acts. Without law enforcement protecting the gains of the property owners, and the systemic robbing of the dispossessed through wage labor and colonialism, capitalism couldn’t persist.

You clearly do not understand what free market economics is. Break it down. The first word is free. Meaning it is not controlled or regulated by anything. Nothing controls it.

Market, meaning buying and selling goods and services.

It is nothing more than buying and selling goods and services. That's it. No one controls anyone. The state has absolutely nothing with it and in fact when the state tries to control it, it only harms it. The state is a parasite to the free market. They take and give nothing back.

Marx called it Capitalism so he could have a target to attack. Marx wanted to control people because he looked at people more like machines and had contempt for everyone.

Then people like you listen to the Marxists and have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. You think that the free market is something it is not nor ever was.

The only way the free market works is if there is freedom and nothing controlling it or taxing it.
