You didn't look at what I sent...particles much larger than the virus fly free through the mask unhindered, unless the world forces everyone to wear the not mask which is oxygen prohibitive and not recommended for prolonged use. I believe it's only good for 30 mins at a time, which is way longer than the typical airline flight where masks are required. My point stands.

You’re wrong. Face masks (and not just the n95 variety) have worked at preventing bacteria and virus transmission since long before COVID, which is why they have long (and still are) required in surgical and other medical contexts.

Okay, so let's talk about this mask in the GIF.

Yes, that style mask is ass and pretty much doesn't stop particles other than to "shunt" them away from the front. the manufacturer of those masks even puts a warning label on the box about it.

Where you are being disingenuous or lying is that you are equating all masks to being that ineffective. this is simply not true. If you follow CDC guidelines, you would have an effective mask that works to trap your spit from flying out into the world and also works to minimize the amount of flying spit you breathe in.

so, next time, be very precise when you say that masks don't work, you need to say that it's the old surgical masks that no one recommends, and that includes the manufacturer, that don't work.

I used that mask as the example as it is the most common one out there, the generic surgical mask that is offered at any venue that requires mask wearing. I intended to set a baseline. Other masks are better, some are far worse. So, I am being neither disingenuous nor lying. The video I took this from tested many different common mask types, I can send you the link if you'd like to review it. I found it quite enlightening.

What would you do to make sure everyone is wearing a properly protective mask? Is there a law or mandate right now that is being ignored by most of the population? I see even the most cautious people who follow all CDC guidelines wearing poor quality cloth masks on a daily basis.

Shod we say that maybe the requirements set forth by airlines (a highly risky form of travel concerning infection) should be required? Strolling the hallways in the Recovery / ICU wing after a recent surgery @ like 2:00 AM, almost NONE of the staff had masks "up" or even on.
