If you're ever in Wales and hear the expression 'It was a shot for open goal.', meaning: 'It was simply too easy to make that joke, I just couldn't help myself.', that was introduced by me (and a literal translation from a Dutch expression) when I worked there for two months in 1999. Language keeps changing and growing. I love it! 😊 Fun fact: the Dutch introduced the word 'Bier' ('Beer' in English. Pronounced the same) to the French: 'Bière'. 🍻
