Here's the thing... We're actually not making fun of their beliefs... We simply ask them questions about their faith, they tell us what they know and we laugh. We literally do -zero- work on making fun of their religions. They do it themselves. We just laugh.

The difference is, these people get so butthurt, they'd do anything to nail the opposition in the same way. Problem is, they can't put up a decent retort or comment with any intellectual base. So, they go for low hanging fruit and go for bigotry and hate. The silver lining here is that in so doing, they become hypocrites and forsake their religious teachings out of their own insecurity of their own faith simply because they were laughed at. Because deep down? They know it's complete bullshit.

Mind you, I'm not saying the idea of some super creator is bullshit. But the religious code they follow in a text written by humans and see the text as completely infallible is what is just hysterically funny. I mean, these people look at us and tell us with a straight face:

"How do I know the bible is telling me the truth? Well simple. The Bible told me so."

...

LMAO

These people write their own content for us.

So it's not ok for us to laugh at eastern culture but we're expected to bend over backwards?

Ok let me simplify it.

So it's not ok for us to laugh at other cultures but we should be ok with having our faith attacked

Culture is not religion.

The difference with eastern religions, is they aren't trying to convert me or influence my government politics. They aren't knocking on my door asking if I've heard the word. They aren't shaming some of my friends who happen to be gender-diverse.

Even so. Since I was raised Christian/Mormon, I can make fun of it. Same way a black person can say black jokes; you're making fun of yourself.

So, to circle back to my previous comment about how religious types write their own material for us to laugh at...? If anyone uses religion as a reason for an action or government policy... I don't care if you follow Jehova, Allah, Yahweh, Jesus, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster... I will laugh at you. Because if your reasoning is "God says so. So it should be for you as well." I will always laugh at you as you're trying to impose your religious beliefs on me, while you claim to be logical or knowledgeable when looking at this from a secular standpoint, one could call it lunacy.

"There's an invisible man, living up in the sky. Who is watching us, watching everything we do, of every minute, of every day. And he has a list of TEN THINGS HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO DO. (Mind you, homosexuality is not in said list.) If you break any of these rules, regardless of the severity, he has a special place for you. Where, you can suffer and burn, with fire and brimstone, knowing torture and pain, until the end of time.
... But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money! All powerful, all knowing, just can't handle money! Religions take billions of tax breaks every year, and they always seem to want a little more... If you wanna hear a good bullshit story... H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T."
- The Late Great George Carlin.

Paraphrased quote, I didn't get it right... but, yeah. He has a good take on religion. Just YouTube "Religion is bullshit." George Carlin was Catholic, if you didn't know.

Have you even seen what they do to homosexuals in the middle east.
Plus we're following our faith by trying to convert people.
We were told by Jesus to spread the word.

Not all of Islam condemns the homosexuals. I've also seen what they do to Christians in the middle east. And Americans. And just about anyone they don't agree with. Yes, I laugh at those people. But, there are Muslims who don't persecute gays; it's the same with Christianity. Arab countries don't represent the entirety of Islam, just as USA doesn't represent the entirety of Christianity.

You were told by Jesus? Did he tell you? Or did the bible say he told you?

I mean, why would a religion which traditionally tithed people want its members to convert people and brandish them as heretics if they left the church? I mean, the right wing accuses the left of being sheep, but if you have a religion whose idea is to convert everyone into your way of thinking, isn't that making the flock of "sheep" larger?

Following your faith by trying to convert people who aren't interested is part of what makes religion so annoying to some. Once more, people have their own relationships with God, such as they are. Simply because it doesn't jive with what some men wrote down in a book claiming to know what some guy said, translated over millennia through different languages, I would hardly call that a reliable source to guide your faith by on a word for word basis.

And sorry you live your life without purpose.

I have purpose. I just choose not to believe that my fate is pre-determined by an imaginary friend.

My purpose in life is to raise my children, teach them what they know, record my experiences and pass on what I have learned so that I may live through them in my teachings and lessons. I don't need more purpose than you.

And sorry you follow a cult of people that breeds more hate than any other community on society while following the biggest con in existence.

Satan is the great deceiver, right?
As a parent, I know that when one child has wronged another child they say "Whatever he says, it's not true don't believe him!" (I also did this as a child.)
So, if Satan is the greatest deceiver to mankind, what if the bible was the greatest lie ever told, and the ten commandments were rules that you could never fully live up to in expectation, so you set yourself up for constant self-hate and loathing? You live your life in fear of hell. What divine being of love would do that? I would think that if this is a gift, a divine being would want us to experience it on our own terms, not theirs.

Nor could I, as a parent, condemn my child to an eternity of suffering simply because they didn't kiss my feet and beg for forgiveness. That's seriously narcissistic. It even reads so in the bible "For I am a jealous God." (Exodus 20:5)

And what's worse, is that right wing Christians (the greater majority) are some of the biggest hypocrites I've ever seen. That's one other thing that turns me off to Christianity. I don't want to associate with that crazy.

What does my political stance have to do with god.
People have sacrificed everything they have had and even sacrificed themselves for their faith.
Why should we let it go if people have been killed or persecuted for it.
eg. The Nazis, SPQR, British Empire, China (current Communist one).

Thank you for illustrating my point.
Because now you're persecuting others.
Christians believe that a fetus is alive and has a soul. This is scientifically inaccurate until the CNS is developed. Until then, there is no info for memory, emotion, or any other perception to be had. As such, you are living tissue. Just like a tumor is living tissue, or an appendix, or a heart, or a bicep. But, there is no personality to something inanimate.
Yet, Christians assert that a zygote, (a smattering of cells) is housing a living soul.

Yet, they can't scientifically, that is, they can't quantify what a soul is. It cannot be measured, it cannot be counted in any value.
As such, in spite of having no means to answer this valuable question (that, if proven, would change the minds of the scientific community,) they assert their religious beliefs upon others and forcing people to adhere to their religious beliefs in that there is a soul, when their own beliefs say otherwise.

So yes, we laugh at your hypocrisy. Your hypocrisy is what we laugh at.

You said "So it's not ok for us to laugh at other cultures but we should be ok with having our faith attacked." Yet, your religion is literally attacking anyone not in it and trying to assert itself as the only religion. Your bible tells you to do this. If you attack, or participate in an offensive religion, expect to be met with resistance in all forms and severities.

Until your religion can stop doing this, it won't stop.
Do you see anyone really making a big deal about buddhists? No. Because they keep to themselves.

They can't even define the difference between a soul and consciousness, which ceases to exist every time we go to sleep.

I would hope you would stand up for what you believe in. I also would hope that you would see the issues surrounding the community who also believes in similar ways as you do and have the maturity to see those issues.

I don't hate all Christians. I consider myself my own brand of Christian. But of the Christians who carry the same traits I've described earlier.... (refresher) "You're going to hell because you don't believe in Jesus. You *need* Jesus in your life." *knock knock* Hello, sorry to bother you, have you heard about Jesus?" "I want Jesus in Schools." "I want my religious views in government."

None? Wow. So you've never heard of people pushing to ban abortion? People wanting to reverse LGBTQ rights? Never heard of people knocking on your door asking if you've heard the word? You've lived a very sheltered life. I've lived in Oregon, Minnesota, California, Nevada, Utah, Washington State, I've heard that rhetoric online, even. I've heard it in each of those states. Do you live in population 50? Where everyone goes to the same church?

Then again, you wouldn't hear of religious conversion in such manners because you're already converted. Confirmation bias, sounds like.

In my experience, having been in religious groups myself, and having been in predominantly christian communities, seeing them online as well, I can say that so far, I am not seeing a majority of level-headed non-fanatical Christians. Even in religious media, they are extremely right wing and went to the ends of the earth to defend Trump, which to me is a good indication of the temperature in religion in America. I am not talking about global. You are. I am talking about Christianity in USA. So, quit trying to twist the conversation to include your demographic when the focus is on religion in the USA.

Pretty sure Sloth, the maker of this meme was also talking on the same point. You just wanted to make it about you.
