Had my car broken into one night. Heard them, called 911 and they were caught in a stolen truck. Of course I could have just started shooting I guess. Because you know my used iPod they stole is worth more than their lives.

They were no threat to me. They were going through unlocked cars like mine (we live in a rural area). Had they been trying to enter homes, that’s a different matter. I’m also not a gun owner as I find my large dog tends to intimidate people even though she’s a wuss.
And after I called the police, a state police and two adjoining town police responded from one direction and another town’s police caught them as they tired to get away on the only road out of the area. I’m sure they told plenty of people about the response in a supposed small town that was easy pickings.
Hell I mostly worry about bears and those I yell at until they leave.
