Here's a few general tips I've gathered for all types of users, some may not work anymore. Feel free to critique my advice.
- Prepare your ass to be bombarded with haters, but in preparations I mean... just block them.
- When you post a meme and it gets frontpage, start shitting out memes like there's no tomorrow, so you keep that viewer base up.
- Relatable memes are always good, intellectual memes with the right template work, standard funny memes also work rly well. Repost with caution, always have a safety net.
- Submit your images at either 10ish PM (EST), I'd you’re aiming for the early wakeup community of imgflip, or submit 7-11 AM (EST) if you want the people who are just coming back from school/work.
- Don't say shit that you'll regret, since it'll always be found by one person in the future and it's gonna be a bitch to try to reason with them.
- Know your place, know when someone is better than you, yet don't idolize them. Vice versa, know when someone isn't as good as you, but don't shit talk them.
- Should be self explanatory: Interact with the community
- Stir some drama (if you're willing to go that far), try to stay on either the moral high ground, or ethical high ground. Just a fair warning, this may backfire if you don't get the POV of the majority of the community.
- Don't get too cocky
- Don't get too arrogant
- Being popular (trust me, I would know) is tiring and stressful as f**k. You're going to need a hiatus or a break sometime, don't be afraid to take a break, you can always build back up. If you wish to not go back (like I've done), then enjoy the memories and just hang in the back with the community.
- Lastly, the most important thing. Don't ruin your reputation by pissing off parts of the community
