The federal government shouldn't be doing research that the private sector is capable of doing themselves.

Why is Elon Musk so rich? Because he put his wang down and risked it all on his idea. The public was ready for it at that time and put their money down.

feds HAVE to do the research because private industry doesn't profit from helping people.

tesla wouldn't have been possible without california socialism giving people money to buy his cars on a state level and giving money to install charging stations in the state. california is also responsible for pressuring feds to offer EV tax credits and helping lawsuits against VW that paid for more charging stations.
