cuz i uh talked about a lot-
i said u don't have to read it
i just really wanted to talk about something i'm really interested in that i haven't been able to tell anyone about
read desc. if u really want; sooooo i recently really got into this analog horror series on youtube that i just wanted to talk about. it's called the mandela catalogue, which is about this incident in the 80s and 90s in mandela county where unnatural phenomena are occuring and entities known as alternates are infiltrating the area. a lot of them are doppelgangers and humanoid figures with biologically impossible traits (incredibly long arms, completely upside down, etc.) they're supposedly trying to deceive the people that live in mandela county by corrupting tvs and vhs tapes and trying to get to ppl's heads. in the first video, it's compared to the anti-christ deceiving joseph and the shepherds in an altered/corrupted version of a cartoon that tells the story of how jesus came to be. the series also talks about another entity known as an intruder, which targets and will even take young children by displaying an image of itself on tv and manifesting inside the home. in the example shown in the video talking about intruders, there was a very young infant screaming at the tv, and when the mother approached the crib, the baby was gone. then she saw the intruder on the screen and proceeded to hang herself, which i'm pretty sure is cuz she was controlled or corrupted by the intruder.
there is also a very young kid's journal entry about a kid encountering the intruder cuz he was trying to get to his mom's room after his dad didn't check under his bed and he got scared (there's also this part when he walks past this unnaturally dark room, like literally if u shone a light in there u still couldn't see shit). that same kid several years later as an adult went to his (assumed) friend's house to turn on security cameras after his friend had to take his mom to the er (she passed out from seeing an alternate, but he didn't exactly know). the kid went to the friend's house and turned on the cams but then the alternate followed him home and trapped him in his room for days until he was forced to attempt to kill the alternate with a gun, cuz he tried calling for help but nobody would help him. turns out, u can't kill an alternate (not with a gun anyway) and he was killed instead.
there's a little more to the series, but not much else since volume one just ended and the creator is working on volume 2. but anyway, i highly recommend watched the mandela catalogue. i really like how the creator uses the old vhs style for his videos which makes it a lot creepier, and how a lot of the story is compared to a darker retelling of a story out of the bible. something about it just makes it a lot more eerie in my opinion.
thank u for listening to my tedtalk
