Anywho: Beez won that election because this was the first Memechat-era election, and me, Beez, and Iceu (with several hundred combined followers) made the best use of this new technology. Plus, we advertised in Beez-friendly streams like PoliticsTOO and LGBTQ. Turnout was high, but it was f**king exhausting. All of this was legal under voting laws as they existed at the time, but it led to problems when many of those who voted for Beez never joined the stream. This left Beez vulnerable to the RichardChill cartel who wanted Beez impeached on Day 1 simply for being liberal and devoted all their efforts towards evicting him. Causing a fuss when everyone should have been much more focused on the WhiteNats and [deleteds]. (Beez made mistakes too, and was afk too much, but he’s not nearly the monster everyone makes him out to be.)

We are in an exactly same scenario this election: Envoy wants me (you in February) to drop out as I’ll ‘split the vote’ when I’d (you’d) realistically get 6 votes and the rest is history.

We joined the Libertarian Alliance anyway because this election is about more than us. The LA’s beliefs are broadly compatible with your own, or so you claim. So there’s really no reason to run independently except out of your own personal ambition.

Whether LA wins or loses, your reps are gonna take a hit for this.

Well then why are you claiming IG will lose, but he will also have a chance to win now? I only ran independently because Strangememe was running and I thought it would be cool if two past presidents went out at it

I do think LA will win, but it’s hard to know just how many silent-but-technically-registered voters IG has in his camp. A big reason we formed the Alliance to begin with.
