I'm wondering why they don't teach actors basic gun safety? You know when you pick the gun up you check the safety and ammo. Never point it at anyone. Etc...etc...
My wife and I just took a gun safety class and the very first words out of the instructors mouth were, "always treat a firearm as loaded, whether it is or not". Many years ago as a new electrical apprentice I was tasked with working on a light fixture 15 feet in the air. To access the light I had to walk an 8x10 plank precariously balanced between a catwalk handrail and a rope noose. When I got to the fixture I asked the journeyman if the light was dead and he assured me it was...it wasn't. I was pissed and I let the head electrician know it. He told me "NEVER take anybody's word for anything! ALWAYS test it yourself!". It's the same principle
That was 33 years ago and I still haven't forgotten! The plank was directly over a machine called an iron chink which cuts cleaned salmon into can sized chunks. The covers were all off and the blades exposed. My wife is a real estate agent and, although she is no fan of firearms, she needs to be able to protect herself.
I was in Bristol Bay so sockeye is what we processed (canned and froze) along with herring. It really is a shame what this world has come to...when I retire we'll probably move. :-(
You are probably sick of salmon, lol :-)
I don’t know what’s going on in your area, but I long for the olden days.
In a couple years, I plan on retiring but I’ll probably stay where I’m at.
Take care :-)
