@squonk, there were violent protests, but no one died and they didn't try to overthrow the government (so, NOT an insurrection). Congress wasn't invaded by armed insurrectionists, no one received a jail sentence (a little over 200 were arrested), and there was only $100k in damage. By contrast, the Jan 6 Insurrection has so far resulted in almost 700 arrests, numerous jail sentences (most cases haven't gone to trial, so no exact figure yet), $1.5 million dollars in damage, and 9 deaths (4 police committed suicide afterward due to the stress of the event).
