I can see that. And/or a libertarian.

BUT some could make the case that Trump was the very first truly independent. He was not well liked by a lot of the swamp dwelling republicans and he had never even held elected office before.

Really, what's so great about independents? Technically, Bernie Sanders is an independent but he won't run for president as an independent.

much of americas problems today result from divisions along party lines, like making things political that dont need to be,example: the infastructure funding bill, everyone wants better roads, but now people have made it a partisan issue and it will not be passed or at least not passed in as good of condition if it wasn't fighted over. Whenever an issue comes up in amercia today people are told that The left or the right is supporting it and it fuels the division, people seem to change their beliefs to fit that of their party

The infrastructure bill would probably sail right through if it were ONLY about infrastructure.
