I’ve seen far too many creeps stay billionaires to believe in punishments for evil

I’ve seen far too many creeps stay billionaires to believe in punishments for evil | Psychological research has proven that young children need incentives, both positive and negative, to make hem do what they should. Typically, people grow out of the need for incentives. So, if a theist brags about how simply believing in rewards for the good and punishments for the evil makes them a good person, they are actually bragging about having the psychological development of a seven year old. | image tagged in jim halpert explains | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I don’t need a book to tell me not to murder someone. I also don’t like the idea that I’m not allowed to question it

Well, phycological thought and religious beliefs can be correlated, they also differ greatly. Those skills are probably for human instinct, so a human must be told what is right or wrong, or else they'd do something odd, which makes sense, since nobody is born with knowledge of what society is right or wrong.
But religion, I'm guessing this is directed towards Christianity, establishes rules a person must follow throughout life to achieve greatness in the afterlife.
So, a person must keep these rules in their minds for their whole lives, because their religion requires them to do so.
They are simply stating how they have followed their religions rules and will achieve a great afterlife, and they are thinking through a religious perspective, while the incentives with positive and negative outcomes are more relevant in a societal perspective.

Just my thoughts on this.

I know, but some of them say “I’m a good person simply because I believe in an afterlife”. It’s not a “I followed the rules of my religion so that I can get into the afterlife”.
