The intent was never to honor Native Americans, it was to dishonor a white explorer.

Hey Einstein - the website that you linked to has everything to do with Native American MONTH and absolutely nothing to do with Indigenous People DAY, which is what the original meme was all about.

Once again, another non-sequitur from you in your normal effort to deflect. Although, that might be totally unfair, giving you too much credit for being some kind of evil genius - you just might be a dumbass.

From the perspective of the federal government, however, the second Monday of October is still Columbus Day and will be through 2030.

There were a lot of things that Trump did that I am not extra super duper happy about. I didn't want him to be president in 2016. I only voted for him in 2020 because I knew that the left was in industrial strength cheat mode and Biden is a senile idiot.

Trump did it to appease the left.

How did Trump know that there was going to be cheating BEFORE the election was even held?

I know exactly why they did that. They did it for political reasons. The left fabricated a horror story about Columbus and they had the lunacy to believe it over actual historical accounts. They dumped Columbus and gave that day to the native Americans.

My point is that in giving the indigenous people Columbus' day they short changed them by ONLY giving them a day.

However, I think the idea of giving certain groups a month is equally ridiculous. Instead of having an X History Month just emphasize the studying of history. If you want to learn about blacks, gays, women, Hispanics, red headed quadriplegics with an under bite, or whatever, then go get a book and read it. It doesn't matter what month it is.

Sheesh, your ignorance of even what happened just yesterday is a joke.

Native Americans are the ones who have been calling for the change, as honoring the one responsible for what has happened to them since 1492 is a tad uncomfy.

Kinda like as if the country-that-can-not-be-named made Hitler's birthday into a national holiday.
I can't even say it because you'll flag it as being offensive mockery of your country even though you're supposedly a Mormon who's not from there.
