Choose the Majority/Minority system with HCP! (attack ad) | Wouldn't that lead to smaller unqualified parties getting into congress because their party members voted for them? I think each party should get representation based on how many votes they get | image tagged in rmk, hcp, attack ad,i still respect randomness, though,i just think theres a better alternative | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I don’t think “small” necessarily means “unqualified.” Pepe and Bruh, for instance, have been around for a long time — even if they’re unlikely to outright win an election, they would still bring a perspective to Congress that’s valuable. One or two seats for small parties depending on how they perform doesn’t seem unreasonable.

If we don’t take steps to make small parties viable, then we’re probably heading toward a two-party system in the long run. That would stifle creativity and party entrepreneurship and make every election a repeat of the last — I don’t think anyone wants that.

Perhaps a party could get seats if they pule 10% of the vote to be represented, otherwise, I thought someone like AAAC could theoretically create a party that has a couple of members; who then vote for their party. Resulting in a Congressman who is inexperienced and AFK most of the time. Or that's what was going through my mind.

I did the math the other day on a 40-voter election — 5% (Randomness’s proposed eligibility threshold) of 40 is 2. Meaning 2 votes are all that’s needed for a Party to make Congress.

Perhaps that is too skewed in favor of small parties — though large Parties would also be getting one seat for every 2 voters.

A 10% threshold would mean Parties need to get 4 votes in a 40-voter election to make Congress. 4 votes is the equivalent of a full slate of candidates (Prez/VP/HoC/HoS) so perhaps that should be the criteria.

I’ll talk to Randomness about it.

Interesting. The idea I had was that 5% =1seat. So in high voter turnout, smaller parties would have less power
