Asking a question ≠ engaging in insurrection.

She’s still a dumbass.

Red and blue states rotate frequently over decades. Locking our political choices into place for separate sovernty will lead to civil war.

Why?

The last time states seceded because they wanted to recontextualize the constitution over petty grievances, it lead to war. At least during that time, the land masses were lumped together while if we did this today based solely on whether a state is blue or red, it would not be a clear cut map making regulation between those masses utter Hell. It would literally solve nothing and make things worse to lock in our current political parties. Not just in blue states, but red ones.

Furthermore, many cities tend to vote blue regardless of the rest of the state, and many counties vote red regardless of the rest of the state. We would be displacing millions of people for minor political differences when the solution is for our political leaders to negotiate and compromise on our behalf.

If you want a war, go join the army, you want to sate your tribal bloodlust, go join a sport or be a sports fan; you afraid to do either, go play your video games. If you’re bored try being productive rather than destructive.

It didn’t have to lead to war. That’s not a logical necessity. If the northern states had said, “Okay, bye” that would have been the end of it.

The war was not caused by secession, but by refusing to allow it.

That is some flawed logic.

I'll explain one more time, in case you missed it, if states secede with citizens who wish to remain in the US, and citizens who wish to go and make a new country free of Democratic influence, it will uproot millions of people.

When you uproot that many people and jeopardize their rights, their lands, and the will of the people...

War will be inevitable.

And if you insist that people remain under the control of a government that doesn't represent them and continually abuses them . . . war will be inevitable.

But I don’t insist that.

Radicalizing your base political differences with alarmist rhetoric is not representation, either.

Splitting the country up as MTG suggests, will ensure there will be people who are not represented by their government. That’s my entire point!

It only exacerbates the problem that you’re trying to solve. And it’s not even that big of a deal!

Republicans already “control” one of three branches of government. And we will retake the two of three branches of government in four years, if not one branch in two years. It just seems like she’s trying to cut off our nose to spite our face.

Our courts have a majority Republican-appointed judges both in the state and federal courts and the Supreme Court.

We’re only four seats behind in the House, one seat behind in the Senate and you’re worried about misrepresentation and wanting to secede? Why? Because you don’t have your Twitter Troll in the Oval Office?

You tell me how that justifies history repeating itself with the session of states and inevitable civil war as a direct result of that.

My turn to ask…

Why?

“Why? Because you don’t have your Twitter Troll in the Oval Office”

Because this government, including the unelected parts, is completely abusive towards white Christians. They called parents who want to have a say in their children’s education domestic terrorists.

Seriously, your obsession with Trump is unhealthy. Grow up.

If you’re so upset that Trump lost and want to go and create another country with it, then it’s your obsession - not mine.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Parents are free to give their kids any education they please. The institution’s regards to what is taught and what constitutes a heal violation is within their administrative power.

If you tell us we are not allowed to leave this insane, corrupt, wildly incompetent government, yes that is exactly what you are saying.

“will ensure there will be people who are not represented by their government.”

There are those people right now. I’m one of them. And you cannot tell me how I feel or what I think about this government.
0 ups, 3y
You’re right, but you’re missing my point that it doesn’t solve the problem. Seceding only makes your current concerns worse. How is seceding a real solution? Answer: It isn’t.

You are allowed to leave this government but seceding isn’t the only option, nor is it practical nor realistic in comparison to the actual options available to you. For example, you could do so by leaving this country for another existing country - not forming your own.

Good luck finding a better one that already exists and I mean that sincerely. You might just find a subjectively better country for yourself but you’re probably going to need to learn a new language or two; and your voting rights may be severely curtailed if you even have them at all. And, you’ll need to secure a job there before you can even move. In fact, securing foreign jobs is harder in almost every country than it is here in the US. One of the reasons why so many want to come here. It’s an incredibly arduous task but it’s not impossible.

Keep in mind, all of that is still much easier and practical in comparison to your solution of seceding even with the insanely simplistic outlook that we don't have to have a civil war just to make a very small number of people happy.

Or.. you can stay in this country, participate in it’s elections, take the elections seriously, push for the changes you’d like to see, be practical and realistic with your choices and your solutions, don’t take it so personally when your preferred candidate loses, and do not confuse political opposition with domestic tyranny. Like an adult.

If you think that the fraudulent 2020 is all this is about, you must have a room temperature IQ. (And yes, it was fraudulent. You dumb f—ks never have actual answers to any of the dozens of obvious problems we point out.)
1 up, 3y
It wasn't fraudulent.

There has never been enough significant evidence to prove otherwise.

It was always a political stunt not based on any real fact. If it were, then the independent audits would've revealed something, and the Republican-appointed judges would've at least heard the evidence.

Not to mention that Republicans had more gains than losses in 2020. All that happened that was significant was that Trump lost.

And because Trump blamed the system on being rigged, it later cost Republicans the runoff election in Georgia - further costing us the Senate in addition to the Presidency.

That is on Trump and the voters who continue to believe the system is rigged - and stopped voting.

If the lie that the election in 2020 was fraudulent, it causes Republicans more grief than it does benefit. As a Republican voter myself, that's not something I'm overly fond about.
