There were no dinosaurs that lived in the oceans. All the large marine reptiles that lived in the oceans like Mosasaurs were a different genus of animals known as Plesiosaurs. Most people just call them dinosaurs because they were large reptiles that lived at the same time as the dinosaurs. The same also goes for the quote "Flying dinosaurs", which were actually called Pterosaurs and, like the Plesiosaurs, were an entirely different genus than the dinosaurs.

technically alligators and crocodiles are dinosaurs and they live in water but if you mean dinosaurs that breathe underwater then yes you are correct

Well, crocodilians like alligators and crocodiles aren't dinosaurs, but crocodilians and dinosaurs are both closely related and share common ancestors from the mid-Triassic period, which was roughly 230 million years ago. Saying that they are the same, however, is like saying that because both humans and chimpanzees are related and share common ancestors they are the same thing, which obviously is not true.

Ehh...the term "dinosaur" is an encompassing generality indicating all reptilian species of the era (terra, avia, aqua) and it didn't seem prudent to mire the joke in (as yet) unproven technicalities. ;D

Hope we somehow manage to find some repository of dino DNA (not bloody likely, obviously, but there's no ruling out possibly finding a millions of years old frozen dino(s) that got kicked into space by the impact event) for study.

Actually they say they may have brought dinosaur eggs to the ark due to the large size of the full grown Dino's. So then the eggs hatch after the flood and thenceforth died off later on.

Actually, there were marine dinosaurs. they all just starved.

What probably happened was all the debris from the asteroid impact went into the atmosphere and made it so that all the photosynthesizers in the water like algae and phytoplankton to starve and die, causing all fish to starve and die, causing all the large marine reptiles to starve and die. This is also what probably happened on land in the areas that weren't directly affected by the asteroid impact.

Why would they starve when there were plenty of fish? :D
