Rainbow Rising

I saw them on the "Straight Between the Eyes" tour. Granted, that was '82 (or '83?) but they were still great.

Right on! That was a strange bill - Iron Maiden, .38 Special, then Rainbow. I've never really dug .38 Special but it was great seeing Iron Maiden for the first time and at that stage of their career. They've remained one of my top 4 favorite bands. Perhaps that what Blackmore was angry about, Maiden stole the show?

When I saw that tour, I don't remember those other bands- only Rainbow- of course, things from those days were a little "hazy"- uhhg... I could'nt believe it when Blackmore destroyed the entire stage after the show, because he showed no signs of "psychosis" during the performance.Later I figured maybe it was one of their last shows,so he did'nt care about the equipment anymore- idk... those were some heady days tho-
