In the words of the hodge twins, either you believe in the constitution and freedom, or you don't. I think that sums it up pretty good for me. You do your thing, and I'll do mine. Just dont infringe on my rights and freedoms. That's libertarianism to me.

well for one i hate the electoral college

Do you live in a highly populated area? Most in rural areas would disagree with you, the electoral college gives everyone a voice, and prevents candidates from just appealing to large cities. Otherwise, all a presidential candidate would have to do is get votes from urban areas and the rest of the country gets no consideration.

What else about the constitution do you feel is bad, and what would you change? Your choice of the word "hate" is pretty strong, I'm curious now.

So you haven't read it nor studied it. You hate the Electoral College, you have any idea why the Founders put the Electoral College in it?

If I am correct, Conservatives can get behind Libertarians for their zeal for the Constitution & the Bill of Rights, as well as, their view on economics since they favor the Free Market.

In the meanwhile, Liberals can get behind Libertarians because they're against any regulation with regard to choice of living & lifestyle (freely smoke Marijuana & marry the same sex). Not only that, they're more anti-war as they're foreign policy is close to Isolationism (or is Isolationism).

My only critique of this is that liberal does not
Mean leftist (hence why I said left and right leaning liberals) instead of something like "conservatives and liberals." Liberalism usually means stressing liberty, whether that liberty is in private life or economics, and to what extent in each, is what typically divides libertarians left and right.

Oh I'm sorry, I should have read more carefully.

You already seemed more familiar with Libertarianism than I, but if not, did my answer help?

Oh my goodness I just realized you said "than I." I took it as you saying I wasn't familiar with libertarianism at all XD

By the way, I really admire that you post so many scriptural (scriptoral?) things.

Thank you. :)

So, you are a Christian?
1 up, 3y
Yeah. I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some call us Christian and some don't, but we believe in Jesus Christ as our lord and savior.

Your answer was fine, and I am familiar with libertarianism. I was just pointing out a small language thing that causes confusion in our current political landscape. I see that I wasn't clear in my response, though, so it may have seemed that I believe leberalism and libertarianism to be the same. If i could reword my question, I'd ask "Can liberals reasonably back a moderate form of libertarianism, and would left and right leaning liberals both be able to support one of those specific forms?"

I ask because right wing classial liberalis also like very little limited government interference in markets and seem to like libertarianism, but they have lots of variance in stuff like goernment military strength. On the other hand, left wing social liberals typically want more government in economics, but they usually are for a weaker military and smaller government influence in stuff life abortion and transgenderism, at least in our current world.

To your point, is there any such thing as a far left or far right libertarian? Left leaning (your words) and leftist are not the same thing. Same for the right. I agree with UniformVictor, leave me alone and you do your thing, that's what I feel libertarianism is. Far left/right beliefs dont really allow for that type of mentality.
