i don’t think i hear anyone still saying IG should get off scott free, most defenders have said he’s some level of guilty but not impeachment levels of guilt. so they seemed reasonable to me and i thought most people in between would agree as well.

I agree, I didn’t find Pollard’s proposal unreasonable in the slightest. IG is clearly gaslighting the rest of RUP with his own unreasonableness. I don’t mean to agree to this implied shifting of goalposts.

But, still doing my due diligence to see if there’s even a remote possibility a solution can still be reached.

If we can boil down your compromise proposal even further down, into really just one core element, I think it’d be this:

—IG stops modding any LGBTQ-related content for this stream, period.

If he just does this *one* thing — no apologies, no temp ban required — then the key censorship threat to the LGBTQ community in the upcoming election is gone.

Could he stomach not doing just this *one* thing?

[Granted, this is an absurdly light punishment that doesn’t begin to capture the full range of all the bad things he’s done. I’m not sure I’d accept it myself, or if the stream as a whole (whom I’m impliedly representing) would at this point. Just food for thought.]

i think he still owes an apology to the lgbtq people he has hurt/censored.

obviously, it’s not my ball park to be talking about as i’m not a member of the lgbtq.

I’m a little surprised IG even agreed to the apology piece of it, since that seemed to be totally not in character for him. 🤷‍♂️

Not being LGBTQ myself, it’s not entirely my place to decide that — I will consult with my LGBTQ camp to see if an apology would help.
