You have to take like 10 other vaccines to join the military I don't know how you think this is new.

It's FDA approved

It's hard to rush an FDA approval they all happen within 6-10 months of the process. Nobody claimed everyone was going to die but it is important for the majority of people to be vaccinated because at the moment children and people with auto-immune disorders are at risk. Not to mention Covid patients are clogging up hospitals making it harder for people with other ailments to receive care.
