Money is issued by the government, in any system where it isn’t tethered to something of “real value” (like gold). And frankly gold standard systems are unsuitable, artificially restrict the money supply, and lead to unnecessary economic chaos and depressions — as even libertarian economist Milton Friedman would tell you. 



And anyway — what would be the “gold standard” equivalent on Imgflip? Total number of memes for PRESIDENTS stream? That’d make me one of the richest here probably. But sorry, I ain’t wasting days adding all that up — unduly burdensome and unmanageable. 



The tiered salary system I devised will lead to a lot of “wealth inequality” which is hardly socialism.



It also encourages a free market in templates and campaign ads and such, which is hardly communism.



But okay. I like defending this new system I created. It’ll definitely be a fun campaign topic. :)

Slothism is based on the government owning all the money and making all the rules. That's textbook communism. 

But of course you know that.

Just because you added socialist "guaranteed minimum income" (getting paid to not work) and a capitalist cherry on top (you can do what you want with your money) doesn't make it capitalism. 

"It will be a fun campaign topic": You didn't campaign on it. You didn't run for banker. We didn't vote on Slothism. It's not democratic. Nice try tho.

All that being said I like it. Communist/ socialism is fine on a meme website. What are we gonna do? Inflate the money, crash the system and starve? It ain't real.

Just don't call it capitalism...

I think you’re being too black-and-white here. The system I designed blends capitalist and socialist characteristics — like any real-world financial system.



The notion of a Bank did not feature highly in the last election, mainly because people didn’t yet know what it was, and mainly because Pepe Party trolling commanded all the attention. :)



However, there was growing interest among the PRESIDENTS community for a financial system, and I detected no opposition from the government (quite the opposite, Pr1ce and IG seemed to like it). A mandate to proceed on a provisional basis.



Now that the system has been set up for (almost) a week, and we’ve gotten a taste of how it looks, it may be time to formally vote the Bank up or down. Feel free to petition Congress to take a vote.



And like I said, it’ll be a good campaign topic for next election. :)

'It will be a good campaign topic' is off topic. That's just Kamikaze speak for "if you don't like it run for office."

Unless you can show me a voter referendum or constitutional amendment, it's not Democratic and I don't need to campaign on it. I'm in the exact same unelected position as you are when it comes to meme economics. 

Like I said, tho: I like Slothism, just don't try to call it capitalism.

So we’ll call a Congressional vote on it, and if it passes, then you and OP can predictably dismiss the results as the result of a “rubber-stamp” IG Congress etc etc.



And then y’all can run to change it in October, and then you can lose. :)



(N.E.R.D. Constitution will explicitly recognize the Bank, if we win the elect and our new Constitution passes with a 2/3 supermajority that’s an alternative means of establishing its legitimacy.)

You do understand that laws can't be retroactive. Right?

If your bank is made official, you'd still have to start from square one using rules set up by elected officials and not appointed dictators for it to be democratic. But you know that.

I’m an appointed Cabinet official, the government doesn’t oppose the notion of a Bank, and the Bank is about to be formally recognized by Congress at my request for a vote on the subject.



Or maybe it won’t be! Maybe I don’t have the votes!

The President who appointed him was elected. Plus, the currency is a new idea and it needs some time to grow. It's not easy to start a currency system, so stop going against Sloth.

The party makes all the rules.

This is communist styled socialism. 

The economic system is fine. This is a meme website. It doesn't matter if the fake economy is fully controlled by the Gov't. 

But sloth calling it capitalism is a false flag attack on the stream. That's where you fly the flag of your enemies to obscure your intentions. Check out Sloths extreme leftist content on other streams and then ask yourself why he's a MAGA hat wearing centrist only in this stream...
