So do you really think about 300 people all decided that they were going to take over the government? NO!!!! They were protestors, initially, and there is video of some of the protestors calling for peace and to obey the police. They were doing that but something happened to cause them to go from peaceful to riot.

The Capitol refuses to release security footage from that day.

I want to know what happened to them. They didn't go in to the building with the intention of causing a riot.

They were clearly pissed off retrumplicans there to "stop the steal". One does not simply go to the capitol with bear repellant spray and who knows how many more weapons... (They weren't exactly screened.)

Now I clearly see it. This is how every government is overthrown. All you need to do is get bear spray and brake a few windows and down comes the government. Yep. That is how it is done every time.

BTW None of them were armed. I never heard about the bear spray until you mentioned it.

And if that is the case what about the thousands of Antifa, BLM and other communist groups that no one has ever heard of burning hundreds of buildings taking over sections of a major city and declaring themselves their own nation? What about all of the major damage they caused to government buildings around the country?

Antifa/BLM/etc were actually trying to bring down our government and replace it with a communist government. And that lasted for a year.

Jan 6th was a small group of Americans who felt like our government had been taken over and they wanted it back. They weren't doing anything remotely similar to Antifa/BLM/etc. They wanted was they perceived as stolen to be given back.

The real insurrection happened Wednesday morning Nov 4th, 2020 when socialists and communists hijacked our election and put in a shill to cause the economic collapse and destruction of the United States of America. Jan 6th is a date that is far too important to the left. They are hanging all of their Trump hatred on it. It is being promoted as the worst thing that has happened since 9/11 and some are even saying the Civil War.

The Jan 6th riot as bad as it was was NOT an insurrection. Nor was it planned. Nor did Trump instigate it. I saw the video taken from inside where Buffalo Guy and one other were telling a peaceful crowd to remain calm and do what the police are telling them. Something triggered them and they refuse to release security footage of what that triggering event was.

Even so breaking a few windows is NOT a government take over.

It is not like what Obama's buddy Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground did back in the early 70's. The set off a bomb in the Capitol building. The Weather Underground is/was a communist organization. They purposely wanted to overthrow the government and spoke about it all of the time.

There is an FBI recording of a Weather Underground meeting or something was released to the public several years ago. In it they talked about killing those who cannot be re-educated.

So if you want real insurrection that was meant to disrupt and overthrow our government then look at Ayers. Not a handful of people who basically just showed up to protest a stolen election.

BTW it matter not what you think of the election. If enough people in this country think it was then this is actually mild compared to what could have happened. Imagine it is the left who believes their votes were stolen from them. We would have people in prison right now over that. Read the Declaration of Independence and then read the Constitution and the amendments. It is the right and the duty of the citizens to throw off the shackles of tyranny. It is written into our founding documents.

First off, what happened Jan 6th, was NOT an insurrection NOR what it the American people rising up to throw off the shackles of tyranny. It was about 300 people who went there as part of thousands to protest a stolen election. Those 300 were all in the Capitol Building at the time when something triggered them to riot. Based on the videos I have seen taken by the people in the building they did not go in there with the intention of rioting.

Since when does a government building NOT screen you before entering??? Maybe before 9/11 but not after. I went to my county courthouse and they made me leave my tiny Swiss Army knife behind. It is about as deadly as a spoon.

People from the protest had been going in and out of the Capitol Bldg all day. At some point something trigger the particular group that was peacefully in there and the riot started. Was is the Capitol police who killed that one woman that scared triggered the riot? I don't know.

"Stop the steal" is NOT and insurrection. That is what I have been saying all the time. It was a protest of obvious election fraud. It was a protest of how the left absolutely refused to look into and instead just kept shutting everyone down who tried to show what happened.

Maybe there were more weapons but I highly doubt it. Conservatives know better to bring a firearm to leftist enclaves. The left is just itching for an excuse to confiscate firearms.

Plus federal government buildings are off limits to anyone with a gun. When the right has planned events, typically around supporting the 2nd amendment they are ask to leave their firearms at home. This wasn't a 2nd amendment event but it was Washington DC and despite the Heller ruling DC is very, very, very anti-gun (which is why crime is so high there) You'd have to be a complete moron to bring a firearm int DC.

I know that when this first happened both sides were throwing out fake news all over the place. The left was reporting several protesters and law enforcement were shot when no one way shot except for that one woman who the Capitol police shot because she was climbing through a window she (or someone else) had just broken.

And many of the protesters who were not involved in the riot are being held indefinitely.

The right was accusing the riot on leftists posing as right wingers. I read evidence that a radical group was claiming they were behind the riot and that they hated both Trump and Biden equally. And there is a possibility that the riot was staged but more and more I am pretty sure that they were Trump supporters who were triggered by some event that happened in the Capitol Bldg.

So I am highly suspicious of anyone saying that a lot of firearms were confiscated.

There is a narrative that the left is forcing on everyone. The government is 100% behind helping that narrative and spreading propaganda (now that Obama struck down an anti-propaganda bill) has become commonplace.

You may even find articles in the news trying to tell you that people were armed but I tend to doubt it.

You can only have an opinion like that if think the election was fair. However, if you, like so many Americans, believe this election was a fraud and that there was wide scale, coordinated voter fraud then this was an attempt to restore law and order.

I am not one of those protesters, nor was I there. I don't support the violence. But I, like sooooo many Americans, believe that Democrats have just killed our democratic process. How can we ever trust our election process ever again.

And every attempt to strengthen the integrity of our election process is met with resistance from the left. And the charge is the same as it is for everything, racism.
