If we'd ended that war 15 years earlier, there wouldn't have been a million refugees.

I'm not sure about that. The real shame here is that Joe Biden is prioritizing Illegal immigrants coming over the southern border and refugees for housing over veterans.

What absolute nonsense. The Democrats have been trying to strengthen veteran housing funding for years but apparently that's tax and spend socialism or something.

Don't create refugees and then tell us that we can't do anything about them until we've solved homelessness. That is pure nonsense.

I have some news for you. This is a rough one! Sit down first, it's really going to do a number on your head! Ready? Here we go:

No government, in the world, anywhere - left, right, up, down, in, out - NOBODY has worked out how to solve homelessness. It's an ongoing issue for everyone.

I guess the Democrats COULD just only campaign in communities that don't have a high enough population to deal with poverty in the first place like Republicans do. Would that make you happy? For them to muscle in on your core base?

Again, "nobody is allowed to immigrate until we become literally the first and only people in the world to acheive zero homelessness" is pure nonsense. Just admit you don't like immigrants; you're pretty transparent about it anyway.

Oh please, the Democrats are only interested in their special interests...the things that they think make them look good. It's all about image for them, that's where your money goes.

And shouldn't it be don't bring refugees until you can house your own population? Otherwise aren't you just adding to the problem?

Well... yeah, building homes for veterans WOULD make them look good. There's a reason for that. Why on EARTH would you ever want to stop them??????

No building homes for veterans would show they care about the people who fought for our country's honor. Where as building homes for illegal immigrants and refugees makes Democrats look good, or so they think.

Ok. So why do you keep stopping them from building homes for anyone at all?

While blowing up people's homes in other countries?

That's the real question.

Aww yes, there it is, the proper NAME CALLING...instead of discussing the facts of, why arent there more homes being built...

Perhaps the business men in the community that they live in dont really care about the veterans....I mean, they do have all of the wealth in the community. Or would you prefer that the community tax the hell out them, so the community will build it for the vets.....which is it? The money has to come from some where? Where do you propose it comes from?

Now as far as a refugee home, those will be shelters, or dorms. If you think they are being handed the keys to a mortgage less house, is just ridiculous.

Oh drunkard....coming to the defense of the defenseless again I see....so righteous of you. Still didn't address the issue at hand, but continue with the mindless drivel of worthless opinions of a party that I have no part of...and have never voted for....so you have that going for you....

Sorry about the link here try this:

https://marketresearchtelecast.com/biden-to-use-500-million-from-the-emergency-fund-to-help-afghan-refugees/131763/

And here's a thought due to the over $600 million that has been taken out of the emergency fund, do you think that's having anything to do with the slow response helping people already citizens suffering from Ida.

Then on the issue of the homeless. If the money being spent is going to the organizations who say they're helping the homeless, is to not properly fill out paperwork, then they are only delaying the homeless person's getting off the street. Oh you need more...then what about the city housing the homeless in affordable housing with no services? That's just setting them up to fail and not really helping them at all, I personally try to help the homeless by speaking up for them on items where the city says they're going to provide something for the homeless that they're really not. Do you not understand there's big money in the help, but really not, homeless programs.

You might want to think about what your doing because it really doesn't make you look like you know what you're talking about.

" the Taliban takeover in the weeks since has added a new sense of urgency. to the effort, some experts point out."

That is a cut and paste from the link you posted. That is some bang up writing right there, its almost like there is no editor...

A period in the middle of a sentence. What effort? The article wasnt talking about an "effort". Poorly written peice right there.

So, if you really are worried about those Ida victims, I wouldn't worry. The house passed a budget of 1.9 billion for emergencies, in May.

Once again may i bring you back to the point that we the Americans are going to pay for it, whatever cost it may be. And as a result there will be less funding for programs for people in this country. The country is also in significant debt, so we probably will be paying for it for years to come in taxes. And here's something else to think about since we're borrowing all of this money it will result in interest cost, which is just more money. You don't think borrowing money is free do you?

Oh then letting the private community build the housing results in the developers crying that any more affordable housing will risk there profit margins, so they are not required to build the full percentage of affordable housing they're required to. Like I've said before it's all about the money and not the people in need. Homeless services is a bug business.

And while you named a lot of organizations which it's good to give your time to, I give my time in speaking publicly so others can consider it too.

The user was going off topic.

But to answer your question.

https://www.newsweek.com/biden-authorizes-hundreds-millions-emergency-f

And who's paying for it? We are. So this is where the funds are going instead of to provide housing for homeless veterans.

Can we get a solution, not play the blame game? Your link is 404, btw.

That is the beauty of our form of government, we all have a new choice in 4 years. Let's make sure, they arent the same choices....

Now, go and volunteer at you local habitat for humanity, and veterans homes. Volunteer at you local VFW if you are so concerned with homeless vets. Ypu can something, it doesnt take the government to do it, the private community of the homeless should take care of themselves. I wonder why they dont? Perhaps, you dont get a boat on the river, and a vacation house on the beach by building homes for veterans.
