What utter nonsense. Quite apart from anything else, that bill passed. The 17 - not one, by the way, but seventeen - senators who voted against it blocked nothing, because it passed.
The House of Representatives - NOT the Senate, but the House - kicked up a fuss over the details, but only two senators voted against the final version AND BOTH WERE REPUBLICANS.
