What schools, specifically, have your underwear in a knot?

Any school district that's sent a girl home for having bare shoulders and all of MAGA country that insists that you can't force kids to wear a mask.

That's not specific and near as I can tell constitutes a projected example rather than one grounded in incident.

Schools have dress codes. Water is wet. Dirt is usually brown. Ketchup doesn't freaking go on scrambled eggs. Life goes on

I'm going to bet you're not a girl. Lots of girls get their clothes measured, commented on, and denied because they wear short skirts or spaghetti straps. And any grownup authority figure telling a 15 year old that her bellybutton is the problem is deflecting from his/ her own issues.

You'd win that bet, though any taker is a sucker, lol.

As far as your point goes; The purpose of school is to learn, not be a fashion model. If management deems something is objectifying/distracting, and therefore not fit for a learning environment, then I fail to see the issue.

If we take a hypothetical step and assume the issue is specifically with public schools doing this, then either change your expectations as to what a public school environment should be like or change the law and ban this sort of action. It's not like either alternative is out of reach.

Boys' bodies and fashion choices don't get policed and overanalyzed like girls' do. Let kids be kids and wear what they want (as long as they change into something they can run in for PE). When we tell them that wearing spaghetti straps is "too distracting", that's us sexualizing them, not them.

To an extent I'd agree. But there will always be people pushing the envelope because they can. At some point schools will need to crack down on that. Where would you draw your line? I myself think it's too nuanced to rule broadly on, since every individual situation is different.

Um... I used to live in a town in Texas called Lumberton. The girls always wore short shorts and cutoffs. Showed shoulders, wore tank tops, crop tops, etc. I'll bet that is one of the most red towns in America, and half the school was either black, Mexican, Japanese, or Thai. We were all friends, and they all liked Trump. So I don't wanna hear any bull crap from you. Tell me, do you actually live in a red area, or are you just listening to CNN?!

I too live in Texas. Frisco, specifically. All of my neighbors had trump signs. Well, not ALL of them, but it's Trump country. There are 2 who are still holding out and have Trump flags on their porches.

And all those people you thought were your friends?

They weren't. And they didn't really like Trump.

They just wanted to get along and not get in trouble with the adults for "not fitting in."

Um... I'm sorry but, that's not how my town was.🤷

Yes, it was. You just didn't know it. Non-white people are very skilled at making white people think they agree with them when they actually don't.

It's a form of self-defense.

No it's not. Are you white?

And this discussion was abt dress code. So tell me about dress code. Did you read what I said?

Your specific experience is not universal. Are you in a relationship with a woman now? Ask her about dress codes at school and what she was allowed to wear.

Then do a search for Texas Girl Sent Home For Dress Code.

You will get pages of stories of young women being sent home for what they're wearing.

I was in January. She wears crop tops to school and short shorts to school. Tell me, how long have you lived in Texas? And what region?
