Vaxman!

It’s so weird their lack of empathy crosses over into lack of self awareness and distrust of science. They need to personally be affected by something before it becomes “real” or “important.”

They don’t support gay rights until THEIR kid is gay.
They don’t support food stamps/welfare/unemployment etc until THEY need it…because THEY deserve it. (And even then it’s someone else’s fault.)
They don’t want better gun control measures until one of their family members is killed.
Etc.

With covid they are anti mask, vaccine etc until THEY almost die or a loved one does.

Lack of empathy is the root of all their problems.

And maybe a lack of imagination?
