You know, I also could mine the archives for aggressive things the Crusaders have said and done, but I don’t think it would be helpful. Since they seem to have reformed, I’ve forgiven them too.

1. Not all conservatives are homophobic.

2. There is a difference between disapproving of LGBTQ privately, and actively going out of your way to harass and belittle people who are.

3. Similarly, LGBTQ people and allies cannot harass people into becoming LGBTQ supporters. The only way to do that is through love, and changing hearts and minds.

4. People who once hated on the LGBTQ community are capable of change and growth.

5. When they *do* change and grow, then it is up to us who are allies to acknowledge and affirm that, and welcome them.

Change is difficult. Letting down your guard is tough. But somebody has to make the first step, or it will never happen.

Let’s try to heal the divisions that exist in our communities, on Imgflip and in real life, and in our own hearts.

As a person who has struggled to keep their temper with homophobes, and ended up just making them feel worse about the community, I feel like this could be beneficial to a lot of people. Especially coming from yourself.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to help, but thank you. I've been recently trying my best to talk to people about my issues, especially with my temper, so I can help my communities (including imgflip) by making things less toxic.
