Um . . . Trump just asserted that Biden's disgraceful actions as a failed Commander-in-Chief in regards to the Afghanistan turnover resulted in one of the biggest humiliations and military disasters in the history of the United States of America . . . so how is that Trump 'downplaying things'?

I agree with you... but what does it even matter? Assigning blame to a former Captain for a ship is idiotic and supremely counter-productive when the current Captain keeps running around drilling holes in the hull and smacking into every iceberg that is in sight. Hopefully, at some point soon, everyone can just get on board that America's leadership sucks right now... both in the oval office as well as Congress.

This degradation of America's values, beliefs and freedoms cannot continue for much longer... and when the backlash ensues, brace for tens of thousands of surprised Pikachu faces. It'll be like kicking a dog over and over and over, then being shocked when it finally bites you.

I agree . . . but also remember that "Viscious dog bites loving owner" OR "Abused dog bites viscious owner" depends exclusively nowadays on the media outlets 'informing' the nation; and since our media outlets now owe their political loyalty to the Dem Party . . . we already know how the resulting story will be reported.

If a backlash occurs, to the extent that it might, I doubt the various news media outlets will have much to say about it for long. The political norm for the United States has been a series of ebbs and flows -- Republican to Democrat; back and fourth -- much like a pendulum. With the pendulum being swung so far to the left and artificially held there for so long, I worry about what it will look like when the pendulum is finally released or slips from between their fingers. World history would indicate that, what ever it will look like, it won't look pretty... and it will likely encompass those in the news media that were responsible.

But that's just supposition based on trend and historical analysis. I really hope I'm wrong in this.
