In most of my normal everyday conversations, babies (whether born or unborn) are not referred to at all. But if I did happen to be talking about fertilized eggs, I would use the word "baby."

In response to your second comment: Babies that have been born are far more easy to photograph than unborn babies, especially if said babies are very early in development, so it should be no surprise to anyone that googling "baby pictures" would give images of born babies. And also, WHAT THE HECK IS THE SIXTH PICTURE???

Most people would probably think of the most tangible type of baby—the born type. But the dictionary definition does include those who have not been born. And even if a fertilized egg was not a baby, those who have abortions are still killing a human, whether or not that human can be classified as a baby.

Anyone who has an abortion kills a baby. It doesn't matter where you stand politically.

"Adult" would be a poor description, so yes, a fertilized egg is a baby.

Not everybody believes the earth is an oblate spheroid. Not everybody believes pineapple on pizza is an abomination. Not everybody believes the Holocaust happened. Just because some people don't believe it, doesn't mean it isn't true.
