Coming clean.

I thought I was straight for quite a while. At least until recently...

I am coming out, and coming clean. I have come to the realization that I might be asexual as I have never really been romantically attracted to another human being in my life. I also know that the LGBTQ+ community has been persecuted for centuries because of religion. Straight people have always had all the rights, and still do in most parts of the world.

Whenever I look at homophobic stuff, I take a step back and remember that that image was made by a straight person. It got to a point where I genuinely wondered if straight people should even be allowed in an LGBTQ+ safe space. I saw numerous images about straight people wondering if they're allowed in the stream. Everyone welcomed them with open arms, but I didn't want to accept a sexuality that has had all the rights. So, on that fateful day, I made the worst mistake of my life...

I flagged one of the images. I told them to get out of the stream. I've only been back for like a week and I've already caused a controversey. I was going strong for a bit unitl I forgot to log off. And now people are going to find out. I might just be banned from this stream, but at least you see my problems with straight people. I am truly sorry to the people on this stream for my hypocritical way pf thinking, to all the allies I offended, including Jade, amd most importantly, Jer-sama. I am sorry. I know you might not forgive me, but that doesn't matter to me anymore. What matters is that I give you closure.

Because most straight people are homophobic! How do I know you're not pretending to be an ally for internet points?

Not all straight people are homophobic.

You might be aromantic, then, since sexual and romantic attraction are different

I’m not trying to be mean, I don’t want this to come across the wrong way, so no offense:
Many straight people (myself included) go to lgbtq+ safe spaces and supportive places because they think they are lgbtq+. Before I told anyone about my feelings, I joined roller derby for support and normalization about my identity. This is why lgbtq+ support groups need to allow straight people - they could be closeted and need help, or closeted and need validation, or closeted and not even know it.
