Fair enough.
Constitutions don’t contain every provision necessary to run a country. They only set forth a framework for government. The Founders of our country (and of this stream) didn’t anticipate every possible issue that could arise. That’s why they created separate branches of government to allow the people to decide issues.
To my knowledge, an active Owner hasn’t ever attempted to run for office in the next election. So it was likely an issue the Constitution’s drafters didn’t anticipate.
The specific conflict-of-interest issue here is that you (“the Pepe Party”) are running against the RUP Party, two of whose announced candidates for President/VP (Pr1ce and IncognitoGuy) are current mods of the stream.
You as Owner are charged with overseeing them, but you’re also running against them as political opponents. This could impact your judgment, and will certainly affect the dynamics of the race. Whether or not you actually win is irrelevant. The powers you wield over political opponents will change the race in a big way.
If you resign from Owner to run a campaign, I don’t think there would be any issue. Conversely if you suspended your campaign and focused your efforts on being an Owner, then the conflict would disappear. Others may have an issue with your Ownership for different reasons, but at least the conflict-of-interest would be gone.
